ISO Certification for MSMEs in Jaipur: A Practical Guide
By ATTPL Consultancy Marketplace Editorial Team · · 2 min read
How Jaipur MSMEs can get ISO 9001 and other ISO certifications: benefits, process, documents, audits and choosing an accredited body.

Why ISO certification helps MSMEs
Many large buyers, government tenders and export customers prefer or require ISO-certified suppliers. Beyond that, a well-run quality system reduces errors, rework and customer complaints.
Common standards
- ISO 9001: Quality Management System
- ISO 14001: Environmental Management System
- ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety
- ISO 27001: Information Security
- ISO 22000: Food Safety

The certification process
- Gap analysis against the standard
- Documentation: quality policy, objectives, procedures and records
- Implementation and training of staff
- Internal audit and management review
- Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits by the certification body
- Certificate issue, followed by annual surveillance audits
A certificate is normally valid for three years, with surveillance audits in between.
Choose an accredited certification body
Check that the certification body is accredited — for example by NABCB in India or another IAF member body. Certificates from unaccredited bodies may not be accepted by buyers.
Timeline
For a small organisation with committed management, implementation typically takes a few months, depending on the starting point and scope.
